Urban Explorer Series: Daisy's Travel Itinerary

“Fashion, to me, is a vehicle for self-expression. I have days where I want to take more risks with fashion and dress unconventionally. And there are days where I want to feel comfy and tucked in, depending on my mood and the way I am feeling.”

Fashion has always played a significant part in our urban explorer Daisy Knatchbull’s life – from working in fashion styling, journalism and public relations to being the Founder of The Deck, the first women’s tailor on Savile Row, London. Having sat down with the stylish powerhouse businesswoman and designer to hear more about her upcoming plans for the brand and where she goes to find inspiration in London, we could not help but ask her for recommendations on the best places to shop in the city. Here are a few of Daisy’s favourite places to go to for some much-needed retail therapy:

Portobello Road

If you enjoy shopping for nice vintage pieces and cool, eclectic items, then Daisy suggests you visit Portobello Road. Here, you can sift and scour through many unique gems – from leather jackets and fake fur coats to vintage band tees.

Carnaby Street

A streetwear fanatic? Daisy assures us that this is the area to be. Carnaby Street shot to fame in the Swinging Sixties with the help of The Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix, and it is regarded as London’s original fashion destination.

Bond Street

Bond Street is a must-visit if you enjoy the finer things in life. This renowned area is admired around the world for its luxury stores housing some of the most exclusive brands and designer goods, fine jewels, art and antiques.

Westbourne Grove

This bustling, trendy central area of Notting Hill is truly a shopper’s paradise. Some of Daisy’s go-to shops here include ME+EM and Matches Fashion.

Kings Road, Chelsea

Here, you can find some of Daisy’s favourite stores like The White Company for some everyday lifestyle items and Olivia von Halle for silk pajamas, as well as Rick Owens. Other stylish shops housing designer brands like Hugo Boss and REISS dominate large areas of the shopping street.
