Urban Explorer Series: Alistair’s Travel Itinerary

“What I love about London are the people, the opportunity, being able to walk around so much of it, and I would probably say how safe it is too. Maybe it is something we take for granted.”

While we cannot travel far and wide, we can explore the world through unique tasting journeys that take our palates to different places. Pentire Drinks has certainly done that – beautifully created to capture the smell, sound, flavour and feeling of being by the ocean whilst celebrating the unique plant life that grows on the Cornish headland. We are happy to have interviewed its Founder Mr. Alistair Frost to learn more about the brand, his inspiration for travel and to find out what some of his favourite spots in London are. Follow his 24-hour travel itinerary now:

Alistair: The parks are obviously great as they change so much through the seasons. Then I love to go and see what some of my favourite brands are up to like Rapha, Finisterre, and Cubitts are up to and what campaigns they have running and how they communicate with their customer base. I also love watching keynote talks, maybe a gig, and if the water is clean a run and swim in The Serpentine. The open-air theatre in Regent’s Park is also great!

Rapha London Soho

It’s no surprise that Alistair is a fan of this place; Rapha Clubhouses are inspiring road cycling shop cafes that allow road cyclists and fans alike to indulge in all things road cycling. Inside, you can find a café serving fresh coffee and food, a retail space showcasing its latest products, and an extensive programme of live racing, rides and events. What a creative way to bring the community of cyclists together!

Finisterre

Based in Cornwall and founded by Mr. Tom Kay, this outdoor apparel brand that designs functional and sustainable products was born from the need to make innovative products for British surfers. Catering to those who love the sea, their stylish apparel is chic yet relaxed, trendy but approachable. We can see why Alistair loves the brand so much.

Cubitts
To find the perfect spectacles, you’ve come to the right place. The chic eyewear brand marries traditional methods with modern technologies to create frames for advanced vision, and better living. We love that each piece is crafted to perfection, like a work of art that frames your face.

The Serpentine

If you are a fan of wild swimming, then you have most certainly heard of The Serpentine. Taking its name from its snake-like curved shape, this stunning 40-acre recreational lake in Hyde Park, London, England was created in 1730. In recent years, wild swimming has been a frequented recreational activity in London because of its mood boosting effects and health benefits. If you are into this sort of thing, then be sure to mark this on your own itinerary one day when traveling is permitted again!

Regent’s Park

If frolicking on the green grass is your idea of fun, then look no further than Regent’s Park! Regent’s Park consists of about 410 acres of beautiful parkland. Alistair recommends you check out Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, one of the largest open-air theatres in the UK that comfortably sits over 1,200 guests. Enjoy the summer breeze while catching one of your favourite productions like 101 Dalmations or Romeo and Juliet inside this breath-taking park.
